Andleeb Khan is a passionate and well-acknowledged journalist associated with the official news agency since 2010. She owns versatile skill set. Exploring and sharing venues of cultural, historic and natural significance on her channel X plore-with-Aniee is her creative hobby. She is committed to learning for self development and had a lot of training exposures from the reputed organizations.


WIMA Community Member | Mahnoor Qureshi

Mahnoor Qureshi is associated with FM100 as a Program Manager and Radio broadcaster. She is hosting a current affairs show at KAY2 TV as well.
She is freelancing with different media houses as a writer and host by highlighting women issues.

Yasal Munim is a working as Senior Program Manager at Media Matters for Democracy. She started her career as a journalist after graduation and has worked at news organisations such as The Express Tribune, Geo News and SAMAA News. The stationery enthusiast is obsessed with human and animal rights, and laughing at her jokes.


Women Representation in Media by Absa Komal

WIMA launched a YouTube series on Women Representation in Media. This series aims to shed light on the portrayal of women in media and what can be done to encourage fair representation and make the industry more inclusive.
About the speaker – Absa Komal is a broadcast journalist. She has worked with prominent news networks in Pakistan. Currently, she hosts the program news-eyes at Dawn news. She is a fierce advocate of women’s rights.


WIMA Co-founder | Sadaf Khan

Meet WIMA co-founder Sadaf Khan: a Media & Communication studies graduate from the London School of Economics, Sadaf co-founded the non-profit “Media Matters For Democracy” where she is Director Programs. She also serves as Managing Editor for Digital Rights Monitor. Sadaf has authored various research papers to streamline safety guides and policy framework around data journalism in Pakistan. As a staunch supporter of the feminist movement, Sadaf advocates for fair and inclusive representation of women in media across Pakistan.


WIMA Co-founder | Tanzila Mazhar

Tanzeela Mazhar is a senior broadcast journalist with extensive experience of working in print, electronic and digital media since 2002. Currently, she hosts “News Today with Tanzeela Mazhar” on GTV. She also serves as the convener & general secretary for SWAM. Tanzeela is identified as a fierce supporter of women journalists’ rights and freedom of expression.


WIMA Advisory Board Member | Amber Shamsi

Meet WIMA advisory board member Amber Shamsi, an award-winning journalist with the diverse experience of working in print and electronic media, nationally and internationally. Amber has passionately covered human rights issues in her reporting days at BBC. She is a media trainer and has published several research reports focusing on gender and conflict reporting.


WIMA Team Member | Momina Mindeel

Momina Mindeel is a Fulbright alumna with a Master’s in Innovation in Journalism from New York University. She currently works as Program Manager for MIL and Media Dev at Media Matters for Democracy and has worked as a content producer and actor at Mangobaaz in the past. She has also served as an editor at Galaxy Lollywood. She identifies as a relentless feminist and believes in using the personal essay as a means to reclaim her space in the world.
