Reporting Gender Based Violence

Women In Media Alliance (WIMA), Pakistan in collaboration with National Press Club, Islamabad invites you to commemorate 16 days of activism and international human rights day for a session on Reporting Gender Based Violence.

There is no gender code for Pakistani Media, no SOPs are there to guide reporters and anchors to cover violence and gender crimes.

This session will discuss best practices to cover gender based violence and how ethical journalism can be applied from language to receding footages and why it is important to follow these rules. The objective of this session is to create gender responsive environment in newsrooms.

The orientation will be followed by an interactive discussion on the role of women in media globally.
